43213 (2025). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Justice: What funding or resources are allocated, if any, to ensure individuals without a suitable residential address are not bailed to public spaces?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: I am advised that the Ministry of Justice does not provide funding or allocate resources to ensure individuals without a suitable residential address are not bailed to public spaces. Decisions regarding the granting of bail and any associated conditions are judicial matters and are determined solely by the Court. The provision of social housing is a matter for other agencies.
