Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: Since 27 November 2023, what proportion of submissions on speed limit reviews conducted by Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency have come from individual members of the public, and what proportion have come from organisations such as councils, transport associations, or community groups?

Hon Chris Bishop: I am advised that in order to collate this information, the NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) would need to engage the third party that undertook the statistical analysis for each review in order to re-evaluate the submissions received. As this would involve associated costs, I am not prepared to commit NZTA resources for this task. The consultation report for each speed limit review contains information about the submissions from individuals and key stakeholders.
