43097 (2025). Teanau Tuiono to the Minister of Foreign Affairs: Will the Minister raise at the Pacific Islands Forum the humanitarian crisis in West Papua, where civilian deaths, hunger, and health issues have escalated due to Indonesian military operations and if so why and if not why not?

Rt Hon Winston Peters: The Government plans to discuss a range of topics with Pacific Islands leaders in Honiara, with a focus on Forum centrality. In the past, there has been discussion of Papua (as previous communiques show), but I am aware of the broad range of issues leaders have on the agenda and do not want to prejudge leaders' discussion before the Forum meets.
