43096 (2025). Teanau Tuiono to the Minister of Foreign Affairs: Does the Government agree with the resolution of the International Association of Genocide Scholars which declares: "Israel's policies and actions in Gaza meet the legal definition of genocide in Article II of the United Nations Convention for the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (1948)" and if so why and if not why not?

Rt Hon Winston Peters: The International Court of Justice is considering the claims of genocide in South Africa v Israel. The case is at an early stage and is likely to take several years. It would be inappropriate for New Zealand to pre-judge the Court's decisions.
