42917 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Customs: How many vacant positions have been disestablished, if any, in each of the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies, if any, between 27 November 2023 and 10 July 2024?

Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that between 27 November 2023 and 10 July 2024, the New Zealand Customs Service (Customs) disestablished 43 vacant positions. Two positions were disestablished as part of a restructure in January 2024 and 41 were disestablished as part of Customs’ organisational change programme in June and July 2024.
