42838 (2025). Arena Williams to the Minister of Health: Did the Minister receive correspondence, if any, from the CEO of Totara Hospice prior to Budget 2025 which requested increased funding to Totara Hospice, if so on what date(s)?

Hon Simeon Brown: Yes, on 4 March 2025. I am advised that Health New Zealand has provided the hospice sector with a 3 percent increase in funding this year as part of our Government's $1.37 billion increase investment in health in Budget 2025. Our Government values the vital role palliative care plays for New Zealanders, and we've asked Health New Zealand to work with Hospice New Zealand on a nationally consistent approach to palliative care through the National Palliative Care Work Programme.
