42836 (2025). Arena Williams to the Minister of Health: What is the total amount of Totara Hospice’s funding from the Government, if any, in Budgets 2024 and 2025, as dollar figures?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that Totara Hospice discloses revenue from Government contracts in its annual reports, which is publishes on an annual basis. I do not consider it to be in the public interest to have officials prepare this information when it is reported annually. You can find these here: https://hospice.co.nz/annual-reports/. As I said in Written Parliamentary Questions 42833 (2025), 42834 (2025), and 42835 (2025), and as I have said in the House, 84 percent of the funding received by Tōtara Hospice, according to their own information, is funded by the Government. I am advised that this is a lot higher than the 50 to 55 percent funding the Government provides on average to hospices across New Zealand.
