42833 (2025). Arena Williams to the Minister of Health: Does the Minister agree with Dr Verrall that Totara Hospice’s current funding gap means 130 patients per month are missing out on care?

Hon Simeon Brown: I refer the Member to Written Parliamentary Question 42830 (2025). As I have said to Dr Verrall in the House, 84 percent of the funding received by Tōtara Hospice, according to their own information, is funded by the Government. I am advised that this is a lot higher than the 50 to 55 percent funding the Government provides on average to hospices across New Zealand.
