42770 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Agriculture: In the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies, if any, how many employees, if any, are set to lose their roles and are economists, between 27 November 2023 and 10 July 2024?

Hon Todd McClay: I am advised the Ministry for Primary Industries disestablished two economist positions. This includes one role in Policy & Trade which was vacant and one role in Fisheries New Zealand. MPI’s wider economic research unit continues, and this has aligned resources for economic analysis.
