42710 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: How many FTE IT staff, if any, did Health New Zealand employ on 1 April 2025 and how many FTE do they employ today?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that Health New Zealand employed 1514.14 FTE IT staff on 1 April 2025, and 1350.01 FTE IT staff on 1 September 2025. I am further advised that, as part of our focus on putting patients first and ensuring all New Zealanders have access to timely, quality healthcare, where there are permanent operational and project requirements, Health New Zealand has budgeted for permanent employees and recruitment is underway.
