Hon Simeon Brown: Between 27 November 2023 and 30 June 2025, there were seven appointments to the Health portfolio where an exception to the Fees Framework was sought from the Minister for the Public Service. The APH Cabinet Committee granted the exceptions, recognising that fees needed to reflect both the scale and complexity of the Health New Zealand board’s role and the need to attract suitably qualified and experienced candidates. This ensures the board can deliver on the Government’s focus of putting patients first and providing all New Zealanders with timely, quality healthcare.
