42542 (2025). Camilla Belich to the Prime Minister: How many appointments, if any, did the Minister take to the APH Cabinet Committee that included an exception to the Fees Framework between 27 November 2023 and 30 June 2025; broken down by month, whether the exception was agreed, and the percentage increase requested?
Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: In my capacity as Prime Minister, I am the responsible minister for the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC). The National Emergency Management Agency is a departmental agency hosted by the DPMC.
In my capacity as Prime Minister, I presented no papers to the Cabinet Appointments and Honours Committee that included an exception to the Fees Framework within the specified timeframe, noting that Cabinet papers requesting an exemption must have stated whether an exemption was approved by Minister for the Public Service.
The Minister for Emergency Management and Recovery presented one paper to the Cabinet Appointments and Honours Committee on reappointment of the Convener and 9 members of the Severe Weather Recovery Review Panel administered by DPMC. This included continuation of an exemption to the Cabinet Fees Framework agreed by the Minister of State Services in March 2023, with no increase in the level of fees.
