42482 (2025). Camilla Belich to the Minister of Finance: What instructions, if any, have they issued to their agencies, if any, to manage Crown board fee increases within existing baselines, and what effect do they expect this will have on service delivery?

Hon Nicola Willis: Any Framework director fee increase requires a Minister to approve individual entity fee requests in accordance with the Framework requirements - strong evidence to justify the increases, including performance reporting, market fee comparisons and the ability to fund within operating baselines. Fees for the RBNZ Board members are set by the Remuneration Authority - these are outside Minister direct approval.
