Hon Louise Upston: The Modernisation Amendment Bill proposes that Automated Decision-Making will be used in some Ministry of Social Development processes for simple rules-based decisions, where decisions do not require the application of discretion by a staff member. For the avoidance of doubt, the proposals do not change any eligibility settings for assistance types.
