Lemauga Lydia Sosene to the Minister of Internal Affairs: Will other work streams currently underway at the Department of Internal Affairs’ head office either be decreased or deprioritised as a result of parliament’s consideration of the Online Casino Gambling Bill; if so, which ones?

Hon Brooke van Velden: I have set my 2025 work priorities for the Internal Affairs portfolio with officials from the Department of Internal Affairs. Online Casino Gambling Bill is one of the key priorities. Policy appropriations are set up to ensure there is sufficient resource to cover my ministerial priorities. I am satisfied that there is an appropriate focus on the Online Casino Gambling Bill and no other work priorities have been decreased or deprioritised.
