Lemauga Lydia Sosene to the Minister of Internal Affairs: Will staff members at the Department of Internal Affairs’ head office be required to take on additional responsibilities as a result of parliament’s consideration of the Online Casino Gambling Bill; if so, will this lead to a change in their remuneration?

Hon Brooke van Velden: I am advised by officials at the Department of Internal Affairs that some management positions will have an increased scope of responsibility once the new regulatory regime is in place, but front-line regulatory work will be the responsibility of a dedicated team. Any changes in remuneration will be decided by the Department of Internal Affairs.
