42367 (2025). Lemauga Lydia Sosene to the Minister of Internal Affairs: Will the amount of Full-Time Employees, if there are any, working on the Online Casino Gambling Bill at the Department of Internal Affairs head office increase if it passes into law; if so, by how many?

Hon Brooke van Velden: I am advised by officials at the Department of Internal Affairs that further policy work may be needed to support the development of regulations, after the Bill passes into law. There will also be ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the regime. This work will be part of the Internal Affairs policy work programme and, as such, will be resourced from within existing allocations. In addition, a dedicated regulatory team will be responsible for operationalising the regime , the cost of the regulatory team will be fully cost-recovered from licensed online gambling operators. The operating model for this team will be confirmed once the Bill and associated regulations are finalised.
