Lemauga Lydia Sosene to the Minister of Health: How many, if any, infringement notices issued by the New Zealand Police have been issued to any vehicle owned and/or operated by each department or entity that the Minister is responsible for from November 27th 2023 to August 1st 2025; listed by infringement type, date, fine, and whether the fine was paid by the individual driving the vehicle or by the department/entity?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that during the 27 November 2023 to 1 August 2025 period, the Ministry of Health received one infringement notice from the New Zealand Police. The details are as follows: Type: Speed exceeding 50 kilometres per hour Date: 18 November 2024 Time: 16:43 hours (4.43pm) Infringement fee: $30.00 Any fines or infringement issued to Ministry of Health vehicles, irrespective of the authority, are paid by the driver in charge of the vehicle at the time. In regards to Health NZ, I am advised that providing the Member with this information would require it to undertake a substantial manual collation exercise and divert staff from their core duties. I consider that the time, and hence the expense, of answering the Member’s question is not in the public interest.
