42289 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister for the Environment: In the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies, if any, how many employees, if any, are set to lose their roles have a focus on working with Māori, between 27 November 2023 and 10 July 2024?

Hon Penny Simmonds: Consultation with staff on the proposed new structure for the Ministry for the Environment closed on the 2 July 2024. The Ministry is considering staff feedback on the proposed structure prior to final decisions which are proposed to be announced at the end of July. Given the proposed reduction of roles across the Ministry, impact to specific groups, eg, working with Māori, will not be known until late 2024 when selection processes have taken place.
