42019 (2025). Dr Tracey McLellan to the Minister of Corrections: How many video calls were conducted by Mt Eden prisoners with family/whānau in the 12 months to July 2025?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that Corrections acknowledges how important it is for people in prison to keep in contact with friends and family and provides a variety of ways for people to maintain contact, including in-person visits, telephone calls and written correspondence. I am further advised that between 1 July 2024 and 22 August 2025, 51 audio visual link (AVL) visits were booked at Mt Eden Corrections Facility (MECF).
