42011 (2025). Reuben Davidson to the Minister of Science, Innovation and Technology: Has he seen the AI in Action report which says adopters of Artificial Intelligence are saying they require fewer new hires, and if so, what, if anything, is he doing in response to this?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that the evidence of actual employment impacts of AI is limited. As set out in the Government’s Going for Growth framework, job growth will come from economic growth and rising productivity. Supporting businesses to invest in new technologies - including artificial intelligence - will help to unlock this growth.
