Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Statistics: In the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies, if any, how many roles, if any, have been identified for disestablishment, listed by role title, remuneration band, and business group (or equivalent organisational unit), between 27 November 2023 and 10 July 2024?

Hon Andrew Bayly: I am advised that between 27 November 2023 and 10 July 2024 a total of 117 Stats NZ staff have been made redundant, including 88 voluntary redundancies. Stats NZ has initiated change proposals which may result in further roles being disestablished, however these are still in the consultation phase. I refer the member to the attached table for a detailed breakdown of redundancies by role title, remuneration band, and business group.
