Lemauga Lydia Sosene to the Minister of Education: How many, if any, infringement notices issued by the New Zealand Police have been issued to any vehicle owned and/or operated by each department or entity that the Minister is responsible for from November 27th 2023 to August 1st 2025; listed by infringement type, date, fine, and whether the fine was paid by the individual driving the vehicle or by the department/entity?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised by the Ministry of Education (the Ministry) that the New Zealand Police have issued 86 infringement notices for fleet vehicles operated by the Ministry between 27 November 2023 to 1 August 2025. All infringement notices were paid for by the individual driving the vehicle at the time of infringement. I am advised by the Education Review Office (ERO) that four infringement notices were issued for vehicles operated by ERO. All were paid for by the individual in question. The attached table details the date, infringement type and associated fine. I am advised that there were no infringement notices issued by the New Zealand Police for New Zealand Qualifications Authority fleet vehicles between November 27, 2023, and August 1, 2025.
