Hon Judith Collins: Ministry of Defence: In the time available, it is not possible to respond with the requested level of detail. Details of the total costs of domestic and international flights are provided in the Ministry’s responses to questions for the Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Select Committee. All of the Ministry’s travel is for the purpose of either international engagement or the procurement of major defence capabilities. New Zealand Defence Force: Refer to the attached spreadsheet. Approximately $24M has been spent on international flights for Defence Force personnel and staff. All travel was for Defence Force duties which include overseas postings, meetings, deployments, parades/ceremonial, and other duties.
