Lemauga Lydia Sosene to the Minister of Corrections: How many, if any, infringement notices issued by the New Zealand Police have been issued to any vehicle owned and/or operated by each department or entity that the Minister is responsible for from November 27th 2023 to August 1st 2025; listed by infringement type, date, fine, and whether the fine was paid by the individual driving the vehicle or by the department/entity?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that Corrections’ policies require staff members to comply with the law when using a Corrections vehicle, and to pay any resulting fines. Speeding may result in disciplinary action. I am further advised that the New Zealand Police has issued 181 infringement notices to Corrections between 27 November 2023 and 1 August 2025. I refer the member to the attached table that provides a list of the infringement notices, by date, and whether the fine was paid by the individual driving the vehicle or if it was paid for by Corrections.
