41924 (2025). Arena Williams to the Minister of Housing: Have his officials provided any advice on the Sunfield development Fast Track application and if so, what advice have they provided?

Hon Chris Bishop: Officials from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development provided a brief comment on the Sunfield application when Ministers were determining which projects should be listed in Schedule 2A and 2B of the Fast-Track Approvals Bill. These noted that: • There would be an infrastructure funding and timing gap to be resolved, which is likely to be significant for a development of this scale, and that no funding will have been included in Auckland Council's LTP. • A portion of the site is planned by Auckland Council as future urban over the long term, and that the rest of the site is not planned for future urban and is highly productive land. • The area is very close to Ardmore airport.
