Hon Chris Bishop: The $435 million reduction to Kāinga Ora’s funding envelope in Budget 2024 – comprising $200 million operating and $235 million capital – was part of a broader reprioritisation exercise across the housing portfolio. The $200 million operating savings contributed to the final average baseline reduction of $391.4 million annually, achieved through a suite of initiatives.
