Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Internal Affairs: In the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies, if any, how many roles, if any, have been identified for disestablishment, listed by role title, remuneration band, and business group (or equivalent organisational unit), between 27 November 2023 and 10 July 2024?

Hon Brooke van Velden: I refer the member to the table attached as Appendix A. Roles that are disestablished are permanent roles, not fixed-term roles. The table does not include jobs closed as a result of the closure of the National Transition Unit or the Iwi/Māori Directorate set up to support the previous government’s three waters reform. Those jobs were fixed-term roles and were closed in accordance with the employees’ contractual agreements. The roles were not disestablished.
