41803 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Justice: In the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies, if any, what are the total costs of staff redundancies, if any, between 27 November 2023 and 10 July 2024?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: I am advised that the change process at the Ministry of Justice is comprised of two phases. In the first phase, now completed, the staff who were affected are either working out their notice periods so there has been no redundancy cost to date, or have moved on to other opportunties. Providing the number of staff involved could identify the individuals. Processes have not yet been finalised, and remaining affected staff may be successful in applying for other vacant roles as part of the change process. The second phase is still in progress and final decisions have not been made, so the cost of redundancies is not yet known.
