Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister for Economic Development: In the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies, if any, how many roles, if any, have been identified for disestablishment, listed by role title, remuneration band, and business group (or equivalent organisational unit), between 27 November 2023 and 10 July 2024?

Hon Melissa Lee: At New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, there has been a reduction in 28 positions, eight of which were vacant. Due to the small number of roles we are not listing by role title or remuneration band for individual privacy reasons. However, disestablished roles are broadly categorised in the answer to PQ 40372 and occurred in the following business units Digital & Data, Strategy Performance and Partners, Customer Solutions Group and Export Customer (Operations). The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment has provided the attached breakdown of employees which have been made redundant between December 2023 and 30 June 2024. Please note that this data reflects staff members who have departed MBIE, further change processes are ongoing. I am withholding individual role titles to protect the privacy of natural persons. With regard to New Zealand Growth Capital Partners I am advised that NZGCP has made one role redundant in the time period in question. That role is in the investment team and the salary band is between $140k - $180k.
