41599 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Customs: In the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies, if any, what demographic data is being collected about the number of staff being made redundant, if any, between 27 November 2023 and 10 July 2024?

Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that the New Zealand Customs Service (Customs) collects and holds a range of demographic data relating to its employees, including gender and ethnicity, where the staff member has provided that information. Customs is not collecting any new or updated demographic data about those staff members who have accepted redundancy, voluntary redundancy or enhanced early retirement.
