41562 (2025). Arena Williams to the Minister of Housing: Has Kāinga Ora carried out any assessment of the resale price achieved by Taranaki Whānui Limited, compared to what the Crown could have achieved if it had marketed the property directly to developers?

Hon Chris Bishop: Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities advises me that it has not carried out any such assessment. Any resale is confidential between Port Nicholson Block Settlement Trust and the purchaser, and not Kāinga Ora. It is important to note that the Right of First Refusal is a legislated process under the Port Nicholson Claims Settlement Act 2009, and Kāinga Ora was bound by that process
