41519 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Agriculture: In the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies, if any, what are the total costs of staff redundancies, if any, between 27 November 2023 and 10 July 2024?

Hon Todd McClay: Corrected reply: I am advised that as at 10 July, the Ministry for Primary Industries has 110 people that have been or planned to be made redundant. This includes 99 confirmed redundancies and eleven on notice of redundancy. This number may reduce if any person on notice secures a position within MPI or the Public Service. Of the 99 confirmed redundancies, payments to 67 staff have been processed. The total cost of redundancy for the 67 staff is $3,078,274.
