Rachel Boyack to the Minister of Internal Affairs: Is the government planning on discontinuing the National Library’s Music Hire service; if so, what consultation, if any, has been done with specialist music librarians, choir and orchestra managers, or other clients of the National Library’s Music Hire Collection?

Hon Brooke van Velden: The Department of Internal Affairs is responsible for organising its workforce and resources to meet its responsibilities and the Government's funding expectations. There is no proposal to discontinue the National Library's Music Hire Service, this an example of misinformation from the PSA that has caused unnecessary public alarm.
