41236 (2025). Camilla Belich to the Minister of Customs: What total amount, if any, is budgeted within their agencies’ baselines, if any, for board member fee increases over the next 12 months, broken down by entity and month?
Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that in line with the updated Cabinet Fees Framework that came into effect on 1 July 2025, the New Zealand Customs Service (Customs) has reviewed its member payments for:
- the Customs Assurance and Risk Committee members. Fee increases for the Customs Assurance and Risk Committee members will come into effect from the next Committee meeting scheduled in early September 2025. Customs has budgeted a total of $1,524 for the members’ fee increases over the next 12 months to August 2026
- the Ministerial Advisory Group on Transnational Serious and Organised Crime members. The fees received by the Ministerial Advisory Group on Transnational Serious and Organised Crime (MAG) members are in alignment with the revised Framework. In addition, the MAG concludes its work by 30 September 2025, therefore Customs has not budgeted for any members’ fee increases over the next 12 months to August 2026.
