41192 (2026). Mike Davidson to the Minister of Internal Affairs: Why has the Chief Executive of Fire and Emergency New Zealand not been stood down while the Serious Fraud Office considers the referral of the matter that has seen the Minister lose confidence in the Chief Executive?

Hon Brooke van Velden: Employment decisions relating to the Chief Executive of Fire and Emergency New Zealand, including whether to stand the Chief Executive down, are matters for the Board. As Minister, I cannot interfere in those decisions.
