41190 (2026). Mike Davidson to the Minister of Internal Affairs: What specific actions, if any, has the Minister requested the Board of Fire and Emergency New Zealand take in relation to the matter that has been referred to the Serious Fraud Office, and by what date does she expect them to be completed?

Hon Brooke van Velden: I have written to the Board and stated that I do not have confidence in the Chief Executive of Fire and Emergency New Zealand. The Board is responsible for governing the entity, and any decisions it takes are a matter for the Board. My role as Minister is to ensure that the Board exercises this responsibility properly.
