41040 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Education: What briefings or advice, if any, has the Minister received on the fiscal implications of redundancies in each of the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies, if any, (where applicable within their portfolio), listed by title and date, between 27 November 2023 and 10 July 2024?

Hon Erica Stanford: These decisions are the responsibility of the relevant agency Chief Executive. I have not received any briefings or advice from the Ministry of Education or the Education Review Office regarding the fiscal implications of any redundancies. The New Zealand Qualifications Authority provided an aide-memoire that referred to potential redundancies on 22 March 2024, and an updated version was sent on 27 March 2024. The title has been withheld as a final briefing on the matter is anticipated to be sent in August 2024.
