41035 (2026). Lan Pham to the Minister for the South Island: Following 39327 (2026), who does the Minister consider should fund upgrades to South Island school drinking water supplies to address elevated nitrate levels in their drinking water?

Hon James Meager: That is a matter for the relevant school boards, drinking water suppliers, and responsible agencies, where drinking water exceeds accepted standards, it should be rectified as soon as possible. My expectation is that safe and compliant drinking water is provided.
