41002 (2026). Mike Davidson to the Minister of Local Government: What communications has the Minister had, if any, from Councils or Local Government New Zealand regarding the timeframes for Representation Reviews and/or requests for the ability to defer them?

Hon Simon Watts: I have received communications regarding timeframes for representation reviews and requests for the ability to defer them from Local Government New Zealand and a number of councils. These communications have been delivered in the form of letters, Head Start proposals and verbally. Head Start proposals are publicly available on proposing councils’ websites and Local Government New Zealand has publicly stated its view on deferral of representation reviews.
