40972 (2025). Lemauga Lydia Sosene to the Minister responsible for Ministerial Services: What policies exist, if any, regarding Ministerial Services-employed staff’s ability to own and/or purchase shares in, or take part in any other form of financial activity with individual companies or funds?

Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: All persons employed by the Department of Internal Affairs to work in a Ministerial office, are required to comply with the Department’s Code of Conduct and to meet the standards of the Public Service Commission’s Code of Conduct for Ministerial Staff. Both Codes of Conduct require employees to declare conflicts of interest (whether actual, perceived or potential) which may include financial or other interests.
