40968 (2025). Lemauga Lydia Sosene to the Minister responsible for Ministerial Services: Are there any policy areas that any Ministerial Services-employed staff need to be excused from, due to any real or perceived conflicts of interest regarding access to any Cabinet papers or other government information; and if so, how many staff and in which Ministers’ office(s)?
Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: Ministerial Services receives declarations of conflicts of interest from staff members and prepares conflict management plans where necessary. In some cases, it may be appropriate for those plans to limit involvement in particular areas, or to limit access to particular information.
As noted in my answer to Written Question 40970 (2025)
As Minister Responsible for Ministerial Services, I am not involved in any individual employment matters. Employment matters involving staff in all Minister’s offices are directly managed by Ministerial Services at the Department of Internal Affairs.
