40961 (2026). Camilla Belich to the Associate Minister of Justice: Has the Minister received any advice since 27 November 2023 on applying any part of the Proceeds of Crime Fund to purposes other than the Proceeds of Crime Fund; if so, on what date, and what did that advice say, if anything?

Hon Nicole McKee: In June 2024, I received advice on “alternative settings” for the Fund, that included merging the Fund with the Social Investment Fund or returning Fund revenue to the centre (consolidated fund). That advice was not accepted. In January 2025, Cabinet agreed to my proposals to change the Proceeds of Crime Fund settings, focusing the Fund on violent crime.
