Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: The Cabinet Office’s email of 24 April 2025 refers to a media article. The email was sent by the Secretary of the Cabinet and referred to the convention set out in paragraph 5.23 of the Cabinet Manual. No written response to that email was received. It is in the public interest that the Cabinet Office can, in confidence, provide free and frank advice to the Prime Minister and the Prime Minister can decide whether or not to act on that advice. On that basis, it is not in the public interest to provide further details about the Cabinet Office’s email to my Chief of Staff dated 24 April 2025.
