40855 (2025). Teanau Tuiono to the Minister of Immigration: Is the Minister aware of how many Israeli citizens have visited New Zealand in the past year, and if so, how many, broken down by visa type, age and occupation?
Hon Erica Stanford: I refer the member to the attached document.
Israel is a visa waiver country. People visiting New Zealand from visa waiver countries for a temporary stay require a New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA), but do not normally need to apply for a visa. The NZeTA application form does not contain questions regarding employment or occupation.
For visas I am advised that each applicant's occupation is not held in a reportable format. To obtain the information, a manual review of each visa application would be required, this would require substantial collation and research and the public interest would not be served by diverting staff away from their core roles.
