Arena Williams to the Associate Minister of Housing: Has Kāinga Ora or the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development ever set a requirement for applicants to the social housing register to provide housing decline letters before being added to the register, if so, when was that requirement introduced and for what reason?

Hon Tama Potaka: No – the management of the housing register is the responsibility of the Ministry of Social Development.
