40725 (2025). Rachel Boyack to the Minister for Arts, Culture and Heritage: What decisions, if any, has the Minister made regarding funding for Te Papa during his time as the responsible Minister; expressed as a list?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: Cabinet recently approved funding of $112.5 million for Te Papa to develop a new Biodiversity Research Centre. More information can be found here, if the Member is interested: https://www.beehive.govt.nz/release/new-research-centre-boost-upper-hutt-economy As part of the Budget 2024 and 2025 processes, savings were proposed for Te Papa, however, I did not agree with these proposals and Te Papa's funding did not reduce.
