40690 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Statistics: In the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies, if any, how many employees, if any, have lost or are set to lose their roles, and provide a service to customers, between 27 November 2023 and 10 July 2024?

Hon Andrew Bayly: I am advised that of the 117 Stats NZ staff made redundant between 27 November 2023 and 10 July 2024, 32 had a role in the Insights and Statistics branch. 'Insights and Statistics' provides statistical products and services to customers of Stats NZ. Specific individuals within the branch may or may not have direct interactions with customers as part of their accountabilities.
