40685 (2025). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: How many complaints or reports were received by Waka Kotahi or the Ministry of Transport relating to pothole repairs disrupting traffic during rush hour for the last five years, if any, broken down by month?

Hon Chris Bishop: I am advised that NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) does not record the information that the member has requested in this way. While NZTA targets a 24-hour response time for pothole repairs, priority is given to scheduling works at times that ensure the safety of both road workers and road users. Repairs are not usually carried out during peak traffic periods unless absolutely necessary, to minimise disruption and risk. I am advised that the Ministry of Transport has received two emails relating to potholes. These were received in September 2020 and July 2023.
