40643 (2026). Vanushi Walters to the Attorney-General: Is the Government considering opening an Auckland Crown Law Office; if so, when and how?

Hon Chris Bishop: I am surprised the Member does not know that Crown Law already has an established office in Auckland. The office was first established in 1960 and operated until December 1987. Following a period without a permanent Auckland office, Crown Law maintained an Auckland-based Counsel between 2007 and 2012. Crown Law’s Auckland Office was permanently re-established in 2013. Crown Law currently occupies its Auckland premises under a shared lease with the Serious Fraud Office.
